Dumortierite is named after a famous French paleontologist, Eugène Dumortier. The mineral is found all over the world and ranges in color from dark purple through royal blue to green, pink, and brown. Dumortierite in royal blue hues is best known for harmonizing the space and creating calm and balance in its owner. Its healing power energizes and balances the third-eye and throat chakras.
It is especially useful for people who want to center themselves and wish to focus their own mental power. The stone stimulates proper communication and self-control, especially in provocative situations when a person can easily be provoked in the wrong direction. Particularly valuable qualities of blue dumortierite are cultivating and strengthening one's own will and discipline, psychic abilities, and patience in acquiring new knowledge. Blue dumortierite helps its owner master unfounded anger, center their own power, and develop qualities such as methodicalness and precision. The soothing power of the stone makes it a wonderful talisman for more impatient and restless people. It is a great aid for pupils, students, and speakers, as it promotes the acquisition of new knowledge and the proper transmission of information.
It is suitable for the fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius; for the earth signs Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo, it will bring business success; and for Pisces, inspiration. The stone is not recommended for the remaining zodiac signs.
